What is New-Bie Cap

A Warm Watch,
From Day One.

New-Bie Cap is a wearable temperature-monitoring cap for newborns being developed by Medline Robotics. A sensor insert fitted into a soft cap continuously tracks the baby's body temperature and alerts the caretaker the moment it drops below the set safe limit - with audio-visual alerts raised on a separate Bluetooth-paired device so the sleeping baby is never disturbed.

Premature and low birth weight babies are especially prone to hypothermia in the first weeks of life, and can lose body heat long before it becomes visible to a caretaker. New-Bie Cap is built for continuous, hands-off watching in exactly this window - for pre-term babies and any newborn with febrile episodes that need ongoing temperature monitoring.

Why It Matters

The First Weeks, The Highest Risk

Newborns Lose Heat Fast - a large surface-to-volume ratio and immature thermoregulation mean newborns, especially preterm babies, can turn hypothermic quickly and without obvious warning signs.

Spot Checks Miss the Moment - a manual temperature check only shows one reading at one time. A drop in temperature between checks can go unnoticed for hours.

Constant Supervision Is Hard - caretakers cannot watch a newborn's temperature every minute. A device that watches - and alerts quietly on its own - closes that gap.

Key Features

Designed for Newborn Care

01
Continuous Temperature Tracking
A sensor insert fitted into the cap monitors the newborn's body temperature continuously - not just when someone remembers to check.
02
Low-Temperature Alarm
Set the safe limit once. The moment the baby's temperature drops below it, New-Bie Cap raises an immediate alert so warmth can be provided.
03
Alerts on a Separate Device
Audio-visual alerts are enabled on an external Bluetooth device rather than the cap itself - so the notification never startles or disturbs the sleeping baby.
04
Washable, Reusable Insert
The sensor insert lifts out of the cap for washing between uses, letting one device be used safely across multiple babies in community and hospital settings.
05
Compact & Battery Powered
A low power design with a dedicated rechargeable battery and charger keeps the cap lightweight and comfortable for round-the-clock wear.
06
Built for Every Caretaker
Simple enough for a parent at home, and suited to community and healthcare settings alike - designed for newborns from 0 to 8 weeks of age.

Audio-visual alerts are raised on an external Bluetooth-paired device by design, so a sleeping newborn is never woken or startled by an alarm sounding right next to them - the caretaker is notified instead.
